Kaleb + Alaina’s Rialto Banquet Hall Wedding

Rialto Banquet Hall Wedding Eichelberger Photography

Kaleb and Alaina were married on July 27th with a ceremony at First Christian Church and a fun reception at The Rialto Banquet Hall in Hannibal, Missouri. I loved being the wedding photographer for their big day! Everyone was truly #WhelanTheLove at this summer wedding.

Kaleb + Alaina’s Love Story:

When Kaleb got down on one knee to propose, the seam of his pants ripped! So, instead of asking “will you marry me,” Kaleb said: “Oh SH*T! I ripped my pants! …. Will you marry me?” Alaina laughed, cried, laughed some more, and then said “YES!” This just about perfectly sums up their playful relationship.

Kaleb & Alaina are both from Hannibal, but when I met them, they were living in Denver, CO. We took their engagement photos on Lookout Mountain, in Golden, CO, just west of Denver, while I was in town to photograph a Destination Senior Portrait session. These two were so funny and charming. What’s more, they were so obviously perfect for each other, I couldn’t wait to photograph their Missouri wedding day!

Missouri Wedding Photography

Alaina was about the most easy-going #EichelbergerBride EVER. I loved being there to photograph her and her friends as they got ready ahead of the wedding day at a beautiful historic home belonging to a long-time friend of the bride’s family. Alaina and her bridesmaids had used this very same home to get ready for Homecoming and Prom all through high school. The home itself was filled with so many relevant memories for the bride and her friends, so I loved photographing them as they got ready. Photographing them by the staircase was a fun walk down memory lane. The flower girl, Jenna, wanted to be with the bridesmaids all day, and was so excited to be “one of the girls!” She was adorable.

Wedding Portraits at Riverview Park

I staged a romantic first look between Kaleb and Alaina at Riverview Park. It’s such a beautiful park, overlooking the Mississippi River. The winter before their wedding, the bride and groom had moved (for Kaleb’s job) to Iowa, where they live now. Alaina described it as “the coldest place on Earth,” so the fact that the weather on their July wedding day was SUPER HOT was pretty funny. Because it was SO hot outside, my second shooter, Dotti, and I kept fanning the girls with our reflector. We tried to keep everyone in the shade whenever we could. At one point, we had to run from a bunch of bees! It was an adventure.

First Christian Church Wedding Ceremony

All throughout the day, I was moved by the way that Alaina and Kaleb personalized their wedding details. They poured so much time and love and care into making their wedding day a representation of their love. As a wedding photographer, those little details really stand out. Because Alaina’s father had passed away while she was in high school, her uncle walked her down the aisle. Her cousin played guitar and sang at the ceremony, too!

A Fun Rialto Banquet Hall Reception

The personalized wedding details flowed right into their wedding reception at the Rialto Banquet Hall in Hannibal. Alaina’s toss garter was made from her late father’s old t-shirts. And her real garter was made from her mother’s wedding dress. For reception decorations, the table numbers were pictures of the bride and groom when they were at that age. So, table one was graced with adorable photos of Kaleb and Alaina at one year old! The dessert table was filled with their favorite treats made by their aunts. Even the guest book was personalized. It was a gorgeous photo book filled with their engagement pictures from Colorado.

When it was time for dancing, Alaina’s cousin performed again, this time for the first dance! Kaleb and Alaina danced to Cousin Seth singing “When you Say Nothing at All” and it was so romantic! Later, both Kaleb’s fraternity and Alaina’s sorority had special songs they sang or danced to with the bride and groom. It was one of my favorite wedding moments!

I really love it when family members get into the music and really get down on the dance floor! These were big families, and they ALL knew how to party! It was so fun!

Alaina and Kaleb, I am so happy that I was here to be your wedding photographer. From your Colorado engagement session to the very last wedding pictures at your Rialto Banquet Hall wedding reception, I can happily say that you aren’t just clients, but friends.
